Polished. Charming. Juicy. That’s what the reviewers say, so maybe they’re right. I look forward to finding out in a few years
Ever sniffed and chewed on an old book at the same time? Me neither. But I imagine this second wine from Boyd-Cantenac could be what it’s like. And it’s a lot more pleasant than it sounds because sandwiched in the epilogue are red fruits, cotton candy and roasted coffee. Smooth and elegant on the palate; lighter-bodied than its deep inky colour suggests; and a long fruity finish that’s something you won’t soon forget
When you’re nose to glass with a bountiful bouquet of chocolate cake, dried apricots and a creamy cassis pudding, you do not demur. You go for it. Even when you have laryngitis. I wish I could say that Pichon Baron magically cured me, but it didn’t. My throat got worse, but it was totally worth it. After all, what’s life if you aren’t willing to make sacrifices for the things you love?
Rich, powerful, sophisticated and complex — three things I want to be in 2019 and one that I already am this year and don’t want to be again next year. Talk about getting a head start on my new year resolutions
Is it Christmas yet?
A whirlwind of dark chocolate, dark berries and black licorice. Talk about cardio for the nose, palate and brain. Vibrant, light and silky smooth, you’ll find this to be a worthy stand-in for the grand vin (good news for those who are as fussy as their pockets are shallow : ) Also great for early drinking
