Deep, dark and arresting at first sight. A meaty, rather serious Margaux with toasty notes of vanilla, dark cherries and spice. Nicely full-bodied with a medium finish. A solid – if a tad unexciting – performer who hit most of the right notes, but didn’t quite resonate … not with me at least. It didn’t bring the shot of magic I was hoping for. If ever there is a next time, I’m bringing my own fairy dust.
