Gruaud Larose is not one of the biggest stars in Saint-Julien for nothing. A mentholated nose of herbs and minerals … a delicious weight on the palate … layers and layers of blackcurrant, licorice and flowers reveal themselves as the minutes peel by. This one’s for the Bordeaux lover. And if ever there was a wine that could persuade a staunch Burgundy devotee to consider adopting a multi-wine way of life, this may just be it.
