image Ducru-Beaucaillou: Be still, my wine-stained heart

Ducru Beaucaillou wine meets girl Bordeaux

I loved this. How much, you ask? Right down to the bottom of my wine-stained, perfectly chilled, refreshingly acidic, yet softly tannic heart. A little barnyard flirts with me at first nose and just when I think it might stay, flits away, leaving me with blackberries, plums and my favorite fruit – tobacco. (Tobacco is my favorite fruit in the same way that chocolate is a food group : ) Lush, smooth, delicious. It can be kept longer, but 14 years is as good a time to drink as any for this Saint-Julien.
