Pichon Lalande is the feminine expression of the powerful Pauillac. It’s no wonder. The château’s been owned and managed by women for a large part of its history since the 18th century. Its unique reputation comes from its higher-than-usual proportion of Merlot. Voluptuous, soft, and approachable when young, yet structured enough to age gracefully for many years. Just goes to show that in Pauillac, the most famous appellation in the Médoc, the velvet glove can command just as much acclaim as its iron fist sibling across the road
