I regret to say this, but I had a wine snob moment. Last week at a restaurant, I side-eyed a woman at the next table gripping her wine glass at the bowl instead of the stem. She also left her red wine languishing in an ice bucket throughout the entire dinner. Yes, it was a long side-eye ― and not without a hint of self-righteousness.
It troubled me, this wine snob moment I succumbed to. Thankfully, it was fleeting and painless, and if I nip it in the bud right now, will leave no scars. There are enough insufferable wine snobs around. I must not claw into that circus.
